What does data analysis have to do with intercultural competence?
How about this: In today's advanced digital world, data is not only collected and analysed. It plays a crucial role in international projects that require cross-border collaboration.

How about this: In today’s advanced digital world, data is not only collected and analysed. It plays a crucial role in international projects that require cross-border collaboration.
In this context, I contribute my expertise and take over the module “Negotiation Techniques and Intercultural Communication” as part of the “Master Project Management and Data Science” (MPMD) programme at HTW Berlin (https://mpmd.htw-berlin.de). Why? While data and projects usually take centre stage, the people and their cultural differences behind these data and projects are just as important, if not more so. International projects require not only technical expertise, but also the ability to negotiate and communicate effectively with partners from different cultures. I will offer students a comprehensive look at the human side of project management and data analysis. They will therefore not only learn how to interpret data and manage projects, but also how to communicate and negotiate effectively in an international environment. This is invaluable in a globalised world where cultural sensitivity and negotiation skills can often make the difference between the success or failure of a project. And yes, given that HTW Berlin is home to students from over 16 different countries, it is particularly relevant to embed this knowledge in the education of future leaders.
I’m really looking forward to this task – it’s exactly my job.
