Die japanische Regierung nutzt ChatGPT – zur Bürokratiebekämpfung

In order to increase the efficiency of government work, Japan recently conducted a trial run in which generative AI systems, such as ChatGPT, were used to create draft laws and summarise the content of meetings.

Digital Minister Taro Kono wants to use AI to reduce inefficient work and make jobs more effective and attractive. @Bloomberg also reports on an initial ChatGPT test by the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. ChatGPT is intended to update thousands of websites with instruction manuals for subsidy and support applications, which have to be revised again and again every year due to changes in regulations. This time-consuming task is now to be taken over by the OpenAI chatbot.

By automating and speeding up routine and time-consuming tasks, resources could be freed up and utilised more effectively. This could not only increase the efficiency of government work, but also lead to better results in public administration. The test run is a first step towards this vision. The Japanese government is planning to increase the use of AI in government agencies in the future.
